Course overview
As a blended delivery of the Connecting Through Talk online series, this course offers 6 hours of teacher-led tutorials which supplement the three online courses. Delivered via Zoom, the course incorporates a blend of face to face teacher time along with group and pair work activities. You have the opportunity to meet each other and practice in real time together, using authentic scenarios on which to practice your new speaking skills.
What you will learn
The webinar will introduce the framework of compassionate communication, based on the work of Dr. Marshall Rosenberg in Nonviolent Communication. It covers the full set of learning outcomes of the three CTT courses. At the end of the three courses, you will be able to:
describe the framework of compassionate communication,
prepare for a difficult conversation,
identify the four ingredients of compassionate talk,
understand the distinguishing features of reactive and responsive expressions,
express the four ingredients of compassionate talk without evaluation,
listen empathically to yourself,
express yourself honestly to others without judgement, and
listen to others empathically.
The course provides opportunities to interact, share experiences and practice with other participants in a safe, supportive environment.

★★★★★
"I have almost completed the course and I must say that it is brilliant! One of the best ideas was to put in so many real-life examples and patterns of conversation.”
